In the previous blog post, the developers introduced you to a few truck stops and rest areas you can look forward to in the upcoming Illinois DLC for American Truck Simulator. Today, they are ready to present the second batch of these unique roadside locations.

Rural Rest Stops and Highway Amenities

The first stop the developers are showcasing takes you to the city of Rushville. Here, you will find small shops and local businesses to explore, adding to the charm of this small-town setting. Another location offers a unique view from a shopping center perched above the highway on I-90. This rest area also provides easy access back to the interstate from both sides, allowing you to quickly get moving again.

Traveling along I-64, you might find yourself at a small, peaceful rest area surrounded by open fields. This is a quiet corner of the Prairie State where you can relax for a while before continuing your route.

Major Logistics Hubs

Just outside of Gilman (also known as The City of the Crossroads), there is a large rest stop along US-24. It features multiple places to rest and refuel. Whether you need a quick break or an overnight stay, this location has all the facilities a driver could want. Finally, the developers reveal a large truck stop in Effingham. It is surrounded by shopping centers and malls. This is an ideal spot to stock up on supplies or take a short break before you roll out again.

The developers hope these previews give you a glimpse of what’s waiting for you in Illinois. As always, keep in mind that the DLC is still in development, so some details may change before the final release.
