More news from the Pelican State! In their latest blog post, developers showcased some of the road networks currently in development for the upcoming Louisiana DLC for American Truck Simulator. This announcement offers a sneak peek at the iconic routes and unique landscapes you will navigate. For more details on the state itself, check out the official DLC announcement.

First, let’s look at two toll gates you will regularly pass through. The first is located in the very south of the state on LA-1 on the way to Port Fourchon. The other toll gate is on the northern bank of Lake Pontchartrain, right at the entrance to a stunning bridge. This is actually the longest continuous bridge over water in the world. Spanning almost 24 miles across the lake to New Orleans.

As you cruise along I-10, which cuts across Louisiana from east to west, you’ll pass through the breathtaking Atchafalaya Basin, the nation’s largest river swamp. Here, the highway rises above the water, offering sweeping views of classic bayou scenery. The road will give you a unique feeling of floating through this remarkable region.
Two other major road hubs in Louisiana are I-20, which runs east to west across the northern part of the state through cities like Monroe, and I-49, which stretches north to south all the way to Lafayette. The two highways intersect in Shreveport, making it a key crossroads for travelers.

Beyond the interstates, you’ll navigate your truck through a mix of complex intersections, particularly in major cities like New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Shreveport, as well as a handful of roundabouts. This will add a variety of challenges to your city driving experience. To see other regions available in the game, visit the American Truck Simulator Steam page.
