Discover Avery Island in American Truck Simulator’s Louisiana DLC
Nestled in Iberia Parish in southern Louisiana, Avery Island stands as one of the region’s most unique locations. This iconic landmark is now brought to life in the upcoming Louisiana DLC for American Truck Simulator, offering drivers a blend of natural beauty and rich history.
A Natural Paradise: Wildlife and Greenery
Surrounded by swamps and bayous, Avery Island is renowned for its lush vegetation, live oaks, and dense greenery, all meticulously recreated by the game’s vegetation and asset teams. The area is also a sanctuary for diverse wildlife. Drivers should keep their eyes peeled while exploring, as they might spot Snowy Egrets, White-tailed Deer, and even American Alligators.

The Flavorful History of Avery Island
Beyond its natural beauty, Avery Island holds a fascinating history. The McIlhenny family settled here in the mid-1800s, establishing pepper-growing and sauce-making traditions that would later earn worldwide fame. This legacy continues today, with the island’s long-running hot sauce production playing a key role in its identity for generations.
The island’s massive underground salt dome provided the essential mineral base for preserving and fermenting peppers, while the warm, humid climate created ideal growing conditions for spicy varieties. Over time, workers refined their methods, aging pepper mash in wooden barrels and developing techniques that spread far beyond the region.

Haul Famous Hot Sauce from Avery Island
To represent this iconic industry in American Truck Simulator, the development team has recreated the island’s food factory under the in-game brand, Flavorfair. From this facility, drivers will be able to haul its well-known product, Jalapeño hot sauce, from Avery Island to destinations across the USA.

New Special Transport Routes in Louisiana
If you’re looking for a challenge that’ll make you sweat, the Louisiana DLC introduces new Special Transport routes. Truckers ready to take on mighty loads will find several new job contracts across the state.

These routes have been carefully pre-planned, but drivers can still expect challenging manoeuvres and scenic views on the road to their final destination. As always, trained escort teams and local police will assist in guiding the way and blocking traffic for safe passage.

Special Transport DLC owners can find contracts on offer between the following cities:
- New Orleans to LaFayette
- Lake Charles to Natchitoches
- Shreveport to Baton Rouge
- Houma to Port Fourchon

Whether you’re delivering Special Transport loads or hauling spicy cargo from Avery Island, the Louisiana DLC for American Truck Simulator offers a rich and varied driving experience. If you’re excited to explore the Bayou State, add the Louisiana DLC to your Steam Wishlist and keep on truckin’!
