ATS Route 66 Rework: A Journey Through Revitalized Cities

The Route 66 Rework Project for American Truck Simulator continues at full speed. This update takes you on an extensive tour of the cities and towns that give the “Mother Road” its legendary character, now rebuilt from the ground up for greater authenticity.

A Ground-Up Rebuild: Honoring the Past, Enhancing the Present

While most locations have been part of ATS for years, the ATS Route 66 Rework has allowed the development team to completely rebuild each one. The goal is to enhance geographical accuracy while preserving the familiar layout and charm players know. The brand-new town of Winslow, Arizona, joins a completely refreshed lineup of communities that now feel more authentic than ever.

The team studied real-world road alignments, business clustering, and terrain to adjust in-game layouts for a more authentic driving experience.

The entire region has been revitalized—from the high pine forests around Flagstaff to the desert landscapes near Holbrook and Kingman—with improved terrain, updated assets, and detailed scenery that creates a stronger sense of place.
