Fresh Interface: UI & UX Overhaul in Update 1.58

Update 1.58 brings big changes to American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2. Our Game Design team has rebuilt the user interface and experience. This refresh touches many screens you use daily.

    Why Change the Interface?

ATS and ETS2 have grown a lot. Their interfaces needed to modernize. Our goal with update 1.58 is clear. We want to refresh the look and feel. We also want a flexible base for future features.

We know change can be tough. Muscle memory from hundreds of hours may need retraining. But we believe these updates will feel better in the long run. They are more natural and fit modern standards.

    What’s New in 1.58?

The update includes several key improvements.

    1. Smarter Tutorials & Contextual Hints

We redesigned the tutorial system. It now uses contextual hints. Help appears at the right moment during gameplay. This helps new players learn naturally. Experienced drivers stay focused on the road.

    2. All-New Route Advisor (Widget System)

The old Route Advisor is gone. A new widget-based system replaces it. Information now comes in separate, movable widgets. Each widget shows specific data like speed or navigation.

    Customizable widget layout options

This system is highly customizable. Choose a minimal setup or an information-rich HUD. The community asked for this change. We showed it at SCS Fan Day and tested it extensively. Your Open Beta feedback will help us polish it further.

    3. Quick Info Screen (New Pause Menu)

The Pause Screen is now the Quick Info hub. It groups all key data in one place. Find controls, truck stats, job details, and local laws here.

Job info and truck damage details moved here from the old Advisor. This keeps your driving view clean. It also prepares the games for future content like Coaches and Road Trip.

    4. Management Screen Polish

We refined the management screens. This includes the Driver, Trailer, Truck, and Garage Managers. The goal was better clarity and usability.

Now you can track hired driver skill progress more easily. Their current training focus is highlighted. We also improved access to your company name and logo settings.
