Today, the team at SCS Software is thrilled to present the talented individuals responsible for the upcoming Nevada Rework Project in American Truck Simulator. This initiative aims to revamp one of the game’s original states, featuring enhanced roads, cities, landscapes, and landmarks that align with contemporary standards.
Meet the Development Team
In this introduction, you’ll hear from the developers overseeing various aspects of the Nevada Rework. They will share their experiences, favorite destinations, and what they eagerly anticipate players finding in this reimagined region. Let’s explore the dedicated team invigorating the Silver State!
Ella – Senior Map Designer

I have been with SCS for nearly seven years, starting my journey with the Utah DLC in 2019. My role has involved working on significant cities across multiple states, including El Paso, Texas; San Diego, California; and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
As the road specialist for our team, I manage the layout of Nevada’s roads and some key truck stops, which are essential for gameplay, providing a refueling and resting opportunity for players. I am also involved in reworking Phoenix, Arizona, which will feature in our Nevada Rework Project.
I can’t wait to see players explore the newly designed areas and hear their reactions. Creating enjoyable maps is always a rewarding experience.
Johny – Senior Map Designer
I’ve been part of SCS for six years, beginning with sections of Texas and Montana before diving into Rework tasks. I have contributed to the rework team since its inception.
My work has included both roads and cities, such as San Jose, Santa Cruz, El Centro, and the Grand Canyon. Recently, I focused on the roads near Panaca and Las Vegas, along with the town of Panaca and the northern parts of Las Vegas.
Working on breathtaking scenery is what I love, and projects like the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas have been particularly enjoyable. I believe Nevada’s layout will meet modern standards, offering players an authentic representation of its real-life locations.
Nevada Rework Insight
Pavel – Senior Map Designer
I have been at SCS for almost four years, beginning with the third phase of the California Rework, where I first tackled Fresno. I have since remained with the Rework team, taking on various cities.
Currently, I am working on a complete overhaul of Reno, aiming to capture its essence and scale. The city’s layout, character, and notable landmarks are my priorities while maintaining some of the original elements players remember. The sections of I-80 are also being updated, and I’m eager for players to experience it.
Fallon may be smaller, but its unique character stands out in the vast Nevada desert, appearing almost like an oasis. I hope players enjoy their time exploring these newly designed areas as much as I appreciated developing them.
Tom – Map Designer

I primarily handle landscape design and joined the rework team during California’s second phase. My favorite tasks often involve creating rich forests with towering mountains and lakes.
Nevada offers a unique dry landscape with tall horizons that enrich the otherwise barren desert.
Moreover, Nevada features long, straight roads that set it apart from other DLCs. Players who enjoy driving toward distant horizons will surely appreciate this.
Team Projects and Player Experience
Roman – Map Designer

This October marks my fourth year at SCS. Throughout my time on the ATS rework team, I have tackled various phases of the California rework, the Route 66 rework project, and now Nevada. I have discovered that designing detailed cities is my passion.
Working on Las Vegas has challenged me but has also provided opportunities for creative detail work to breathe life into the city. I hope both new and veteran players find exploring the revamped Las Vegas enjoyable.
Margo – Map Designer

Hi there! Working on the Rework team since I joined in 2022 has been a fantastic experience. Each year brings new challenges, and reworking Nevada has allowed me to rethink my design approach.
To me, creating goes beyond mechanics; I like embedding hidden details that surprise players. If my work evokes smiles or captures attention, it’s fulfilling.
Curiosity is essential, so for those intrigued about the new Nevada, that’s a great start. There are numerous exciting spots to discover, including some fun UFO references!
Filip – Map Designer

Hello everyone! My journey as a map designer started with the fourth phase of the California rework. I was responsible for smaller tasks that suited a newcomer. On the Route 66 rework project, I tackled I-191 and Page.
The knowledge I’ve gained helps shape Nevada’s new look. I’m working on Carson City and its surroundings, hoping players enjoy revisiting this fantastic state!
Mykyta – Map Designer

I have been part of SCS Software for two years. Previously, I worked on the Route 66 project. Now, as part of the Nevada Rework, I focus on the towns of Elko and Carlin.
Players can expect to drive through the Carlin Tunnel and discover beautiful sights along the way throughout this area.
Future Prospects and Community Engagement
Jakub – Map Designer

I have spent over a year at SCS, starting with reworking northern Arizona and New Mexico. Now, the Nevada Rework stands as another dream project.
As an admirer of vast landscapes and mountains, every road I worked on has been enjoyable, and I am pleased that Nevada reflects its true character.
Rob – Junior Map Designer

Hello everyone! I am Rob, and I’ve been with SCS for over a year. The Nevada Rework represents my first major project. Earlier, I worked on smaller initiatives in Arizona.
I am focusing on the northern part of Nevada, striving for realism in portraying sun-soaked roads cutting through the Nevada desert. Players can expect a beautifully detailed landscape and vibrant cities.
My goal is to provide a refreshing take on familiar locations, allowing players to experience Nevada in entirely new ways.

Hi! I’ve been at SCS for four months and already feel at home here. Working on Nevada has been delightful.
My task included completing the road from Las Vegas to Panaca, wrapping around scenic mountain areas and finishing details started by Johny. Additionally, there’s a Visitor Center near Panaca that I worked to capture beautifully. I’d recommend players take a detour to explore the area.
Samuel – Junior Map Designer

I’m Sam, and I just reached five months at SCS Software. Growing up playing our games, contributing to their development is a dream realized.
In this project, I worked on the shorter roads in western Nevada. I keenly focused on reflecting the area’s authentic landscape and unique character. I eagerly await showcasing my upcoming work in future DLCs.
