East St. Louis Illinois DLC: An Industrial Hub on the Mississippi
Welcome to East St. Louis. Today, we are taking a closer look at this historic city. It will be featured in the upcoming Illinois DLC for American Truck Simulator. We hope you enjoy this preview of the industrial hub. Our teams have recreated it in detail.

East St. Louis Illinois DLC: Location and Setting
East St. Louis sits on the eastern bank of the Mississippi River. It is directly across from St. Louis, Missouri. The city is part of the wider metro area. It has long played a key role in transport and heavy industry. Its river location supports freight routes, rail lines, and industrial sites. These serve the entire region.

Views of the St. Louis Skyline
Drivers travelling through East St. Louis will see clear views. They will look across the Mississippi River toward the St. Louis skyline. Players will recognise several landmarks on the other side. These include the world-famous Gateway Arch. Parts of downtown St. Louis are also visible.

Industry and Freight in East St. Louis Illinois DLC
Industry defines much of East St. Louis. The city serves as a major hub for metal production. Heavy industry is also important here. Drivers will deliver cargo to a large steel facility. Other sites include manufacturing and construction material plants. A nearby refinery adds to the mix. Several chemical plants also operate in the area. This creates steady demand for tanker jobs. Heavy haul work is also available.

Agriculture and Grain Transport
Agriculture also feeds into the region’s supply chain. Several grain mills are located in the area. Storage sites connect local farming output to national transport routes. This gives drivers additional freight options across the region.

Rail Legacy in East St. Louis Illinois DLC
Rail transport remains a major part of the city’s identity. At the turn of the 20th century, East St. Louis was one of the busiest rail hubs in the United States. That legacy still shows today. Players will pass large rail yards. Intermodal terminals and railway depots are also present. Cargo moves between trains and trucks at these locations.

Trams and Public Transit
While travelling through the metro area, players may notice the black-and-blue trams. These light rail vehicles run through the wider St. Louis region. They link communities on both sides of the Mississippi River.

Freight Opportunities in East St. Louis Illinois DLC
Whether you are hauling steel, chemicals, grain, or containers, East St. Louis offers plenty of freight opportunities. This is a working industrial hub along one of America’s most important waterways.
