Today, the team at SCS Software is happy to share a closer look at Stonehenge. It is one of Britain’s most iconic and mysterious landmarks. The landmark will be featured in the UK Rework for Euro Truck Simulator 2. This prehistoric circular megalithic stone structure has stood watch over the rolling countryside for thousands of years. It continues to captivate visitors from around the world with its scale, history, and mystery.

Stonehenge UK Rework: A 5000-Year-Old Mystery

Stonehenge is believed to date back over 5000 years. It remains one of the greatest mysteries of the ancient world. Was it a ceremonial site? Perhaps it was an astronomical calendar aligned with the sun’s movements. Historians continue to debate its true purpose. One thing is certain. Stonehenge has become a symbol of Britain’s history. The Stonehenge UK Rework brings this wonder to virtual truckers.

A Place to Stop and Explore

This landmark has been carefully recreated by the talented teams. It is part of the UK Rework project. Drivers passing by in the future will catch a memorable glimpse of these ancient standing stones. If you wish to take a quick break and enjoy the view a little longer, you can.

The Modern Visitor Centre

Nearby, you will also find the modern visitor centre. It welcomes thousands of tourists each year. Built in 2013, this visitor centre houses permanent and temporary exhibitions. Nearly 300 archaeological treasures are found buried at the site. These include jewellery, pottery, and human remains. A dedicated parking area for buses is also provided. There is plenty of room for visitors to stop and learn more.

Neolithic Burial Mounds

Set within the heart of the Wiltshire countryside, the area surrounding Stonehenge offers a peaceful glimpse into rural southern England. As you drive through this area, you may notice smaller mounds dotted across the landscape. These are not simply natural features. They are Neolithic burial mounds, constructed thousands of years ago.
