What’s New in the 1.61 Update?
Your insights are valuable to our team, and we appreciate everyone who contributes to enhancing the gaming experience. Players who participated in the Experimental Beta should switch to the Open Beta branch seamlessly. Save data from the Experimental Beta is compatible here.
We thank all players who engaged with the Experimental Beta, especially those who provided feedback on features like the Multi-Function Display (MFD) and in-game menus. Based on community feedback, we have decided to delay these features from the 1.61 update to ensure top quality.
Introducing Proximity Exploration
The Euro Truck Simulator 2 update introduces the Proximity Exploration feature. This quality-of-life enhancement helps players explore the world map and discover new areas more intuitively. No longer will drivers need to drive over every inch of road to unlock map sections!
With Proximity Exploration enabled, a small circle around your vehicle will automatically unlock as you travel, making exploration easier than ever. This tool will also reveal nearby accessible roads and areas such as rest stops, gas stations, and toll gates. Don’t worry, secrets are still to be discovered—this feature will offer glimpses of new paths when you approach secret roads.
Livestock Trailer Rework
The 1.61 update brings a complete rework of the Livestock Trailer. Our vehicle team has redesigned it from the ground up. The new trailer features modern European designs with added customization options for owners.
Drivers can choose among multiple customization options, including different chassis configurations and body styles. This update allows for further personalization of your trailer, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
Schwarzmüller Trailer Pack Update
The Euro Truck Simulator 2 update also enhances the Schwarzmüller Trailer Pack DLC. The low loader trailer has undergone a complete redesign to match the latest models from Schwarzmüller.
Available accessories have also been revamped to accurately reflect contemporary equipment. We aim to enhance the entire Schwarzmüller Trailer Pack with this update.
Map Enhancements
With the upcoming Coaches DLC, significant map changes are underway. Nuremberg now features a modern bus station and newly created landmarks. Other updates are happening across various cities to prepare for passenger transport.
The updated bus stations in cities like Karlstad and Aarhus are interactive thanks to the Coaches DLC. All changes aim at making the world ready for new transport options.
